President Donald Trump and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang will meet today at the White House to discuss AI investment and this week’s Chinese rollout of DeepSeek AI, a Senior White House Administration Official told Africa Bazaar magazine.
The meeting comes as Nvidia stocks took a heavy hit this week after China rolled out its DeepSeek AI app, sending shockwaves through Wall Street and Silicon Valley, and challenging OpenAI’s ChapGPT dominance in the technology area.
DeepSeek AI rollout earlier this week stunned Silicon Valley and caught investors off guard given its low cost to develop, compared to its rivals and have Wall Street analysts questioning/ asking whether the U.S. can maintain its lead in the AI race and whether the demand for AI chips will sustain
It also comes days after President Trump announced Stargate, a 4-year $500 Billion joint venture investment from Oracle, Softbank, and OpenAI in the U.S.
