President Donald Trump Wednesday posted on social media that he plans to announce his administration’s first post-tariffs trade deal on Thursday at the White House.

“Big news Conference tomorrow morning at 10.00 A.M. The Oval Office, concerning a major trade deal with representatives of a big and highly respected country. The first of many!!!” he wrote.

Several news reports said the trade announcement is with the U.K.

Prime Minister Keir Stermer was among the first to visit President Trump at the White House to discuss a trade deal following President Trump’s announcement earlier this year that he planned to impose sweeping global tariffs on all countries.

The U.S. and the United Kingdom have a long history together as global allies and as bilateral trade partners. During the Prime Minister’s visit to the White House in February, he delivered an invitation from King Charles II inviting President Trump to a State Visit, which Trump accepted. This marks the American President’s second State Visit to U.K. King Charles II’s mother, Queen Elizabeth previously honored Trump with a State Visit at the Buckingham Palace during his first term.

President Trump confirmed on Truth Social Thursday morning that the trade announcement he will make at 10 a.m. is between the U.S. and the UK.

“This should be a very big and exciting day for the United States of America and the United Kingdom,” adding that the agreement between the two countries is a full and comprehensive one that will cement the relationship between the U.S. and the UK for many years to come due to their long history and allegiance together. “It is a great honor to have the United Kingdom as our First announcement. Many deals, which are in serious stages of negotiation, to follow!” wrote in a post.
