The Trump Administration is calling for public recommendations that would help define its AI Action Plan policy priorities.

The AI Action Plan aims to help the government design the right policies that will enable America to continue its AI leadership in the world to promote human prosperity, economic competitiveness, and national security while also lessening and removing unnecessarily burdensome requirements from hindering private sector innovation.

In a notice published in the Federal Registry on Tuesday, the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy encouraged Americans, including academia, industry groups, private sector organizations, state, local, and tribal governments, and others to share their policy ideas for what should be included in the Trump Administration’s AI Action Plan by responding to a Request for Information by March 15 through the Federal Registry’s website.

Lynne Parker, Principal Deputy Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy said in a statement the Trump Administration remains committed to ensuring the U.S. is the undeniable leader in AI technology. “This AI Action Plan is the first step in securing and advancing American AI dominance, and we look forward to incorporating the public’s comments and innovative ideas.”

Interested public are encouraged to submit their input by March 15.

The call for public suggestions comes on the heels of a recent $500 billion AI investment announcement from Stargate—a joint venture between Open AI, Oracle, and SoftBank Corp to build AI infrastructure across the country, part of the administration’s efforts as it seeks to boost private-sector investments in AI technology in the U.S.
