South Africa Unveils One-Step Business Registration and Bank Account Setup

Doing business just got easier in South Africa. In an effort to help streamline the process of registering a company, South Africa’s First National Bank and Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) on Monday unveiled a new initiative that enables South African entrepreneurs to register a new business and open a corporate bank account through FNB’s online platform at no additional charge than the CIPC’s fees.

PRASA, Gibela Sign $5.1 bn Passenger Rail Order

Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa and Gibela, a south African transport company 61 percent owned by Alstom, said on Monday they have signed a $5.1 billion (R51 billion) joint venture contract for Gibela to supply 600 passenger trains, including the construction of a local manufacturing facility, to be delivered to PRASA between 2015 and 2025.
